    • If you have never handed a firearm or it's been a while since you have handed a firearm we recommend that you start with our basic Pistol Course we will not have a opportunity to teach you this during our LTC course, you must know how to safely handle  and  operate the firearm that you intend on using.

    Basic Pistol Classes

    • This course is for you if you have never fired a firearm,  teach you the ins and outs of safely using a firearm. 


    Unloading Firearms


    Upon Completion of our Basic Pistol Course you will know how to load and unload a firearm safely:

    • Point the muzzle in a safe direction.
    • If the firearm has a safety, put the safety on if you can open the action and unload the firearm with the safety on.
    • Keep your finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard.
    • Remove the magazine.
    • Open the action.
    • Eject cartridges or shells if it is the only way to remove them.
    • Make sure the firearm is empty by physically and visually checking both the chamber and the magazine well.
    • Put the safety on if it is not on alread

    You must know how to safely handle a firearm this includes loading and unloading the firearm safety before you signup and take our LTC 

    LTC & Concealed Carry Certification

    . What are the requirements for obtaining a Texas License to Carry a Handgun (LTC)?

    • Texas Government Code Chapter 411, Subchapter 


    • Texas Government Code Chapter 411, Subchapter H sets out the eligibility criteria that must be met. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age (unless active duty military) and must meet Federal qualifications to purchase a handgun. A number of factors may make individuals ineligible to obtain a license, such as: felony convictions, some misdemeanor convictions, including charges that resulted in probation or deferred adjudication; certain pending criminal charges; chemical or alcohol dependency; certain types of psychological diagnoses, and protective or restraining orders. The state eligibility requirements can be found in GC §411.172.The federal firearms disqualifiers can be found in 18 USC 44 §922.
    • You must also submit a completed application, pay the required fees, complete all required training and submit required supplemental forms and materials.

    Announcement

     The LTC course (formerly known as a CHL course), is taught at the Firearms Training MMI in Dallas, Texas where we offer an indoor gun range at ( the Gun Zone ) for testing purposes. This class is required to obtain your Texas License To Carry permit. The class includes 4-6 hours of classroom instruction, a 25-question written test, and a 50 round shooting qualification (shooting skills or teaching you how to shoot is NOT part of the 4-6 hours).
